The multi-use Kep Track uses the rail formation between Mundaring in the Perth Hills, to Northam, east of Perth.  The trail can take anywhere from a one to two hour walk, a bush outing for you and your horse, or a cycle adventure of several days.

Time depends on mode of transport and length of section chosen. Distance is 75km

Road to Mundaring Weir. Road, bus or rail to Northam

Easy (suits majority of fitness and experience levels)

What to Pack

Additional items if horse riding
Group C items required.

  • Group A and B items (see Trail Tips) plus
  • Gloves to prevent blisters 
  • Spare inner tubes or puncture repair kit, pump, tool kit
  • Mountain bike shoes and clipless pedals are recommended

Hazards

Slow down when approaching roads

Prohibited

Dogs on lead and horses permitted, however they are not allowed closer to Mundaring Weir than Firewood Road (approx. 3km from the weir) to protect the water quality
