Camel Trail

A walk along this trail in the early morning showcases a beautiful landscape of colour changes and is an opportunity to discover some iconic Pilbara wildflowers, such as Sturt’s desert pea, mulla mulla’s and the holly leafed grevillea.. Enjoy the stunning vista of the Chichester Ranges from the lookout at the top of Mount Herbert.

3 hours one way or 6 hours return. Distance is 8km (one way) or 16km (return)

Moderate (moderate level of fitness and experience required)
What to Pack
Take 4 litres of water per person. Maps available from visitor centre.
Group B items required.
- Minimum 2 litres of water per person per day
- Sturdy shoes
- Sun hat or bike helmet (compulsory in WA)
- Sunglasses, sunscreen (30+) and insect repellant
- Binoculars and camera (optional)
- Map or guide book where suggested
- Snacks and/or lunch depending on length of trail
- Clothes to suit the activity and potential weather conditions including a water/windproof jacket
- Spray bottle of methylated spirits to spray boots and tyres in disease risk areas
- First Aid kit
Hazards
Roads may be closed after heavy rain. Check with DEC before travelling
