Parker Point Marine Snorkel Trail is located on the southern side of Rottnest Island, a popular holiday destination off the coast of Perth. The trail features a number of plaques on the sea bed which allow you to read about the abundant flora and fish life in the area. 

The 12 interpretive plaques are identified with buoys making them easy to find - particularly if you look for the trailhead before venturing into the water. The plaques have black lettering on a silver background and have two handles to hang onto. The water conditions are generally calm, clear and spectacular, allowing superb viewing of the vast array of marine plants and animals and the extensive coral reef.

As the water is a bit deeper and the swim area larger, the more experienced snorkeler would enjoy this trail, whilst less confident swimmers may prefer the snorkel trail at Little Salmon Bay.

Apart from the island bus, the main form of transport around the island is by bicycle. It is possible to ride around the island (26 kilometres) in half a day, but to enjoy the cycle stop off at some of the many pristine beaches along the way, including Parker Point.

With ferry operators running services from Hillarys Boat Harbour in the north, Fremantle in the South and Barrack Street Jetty in the city centre, Rottnest Island is easily accessible. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes from Fremantle, 45 minutes from Hillarys or 90 minutes from Perth's Barrack Street Jetty. Ferries run 365 days a year and are the most popular way for visitors to travel to the Island. However if that's not your style or if you just want to try something different you can also fly from Jandakot Airport in about 30 minutes.
