Long Distance Trails
Western Australia’s world-class long distance trails

Bibbulmun Track
965 km, 6 to 8 weeks end-to-end
The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails, stretching nearly 1000 kilometres from Kalamunda, in the Perth hills, to the historic town of Albany on the south coast. The Track features 48 campsites along the way with timber shelters and water tanks and passes through nine communities for re-supply.
Bushwalkers from around the world come to WA to become an end-to-ender on ‘The Bibb’.
“It is a fantastic walk in one of the most beautiful, scenic and diverse regions of this planet. A real gem. For me it was a “walk of a lifetime.”
Hanspeter Kaempf, QLD (End-to-end)
“We leave with sore feet, smelly socks and not a teabag left between us – but with the Bibb in our blood – so watch this space – we’ll be back!!.”
Graham & Trish, London, England (8 great days & 7 memorable nights)
“I’ve done most of the major walks in Australia, from those in Tasmania to Central Australia and Queensland…but the Bibbulmun is so unique and has a special place in my heart – it almost seems to have an aura about it.”
Bernice Colvin, NSW. (Just completed her second end-to-end)
“The walk was marvellous, and I was very impressed (as was every other walker who I met) by the quality of the trail and shelters and the hard work that the vollies put into it.”
Duncan Anderson, UK

Cape to Cape Track
135km, 5 - 8 days end-to-end
The Cape to Cape Track runs along the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge between the lighthouses of Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin in the south west. It features spectacular coastal and forest scenery, a fascinating geology and history, and wonderful wildflowers in spring.

Munda Biddi Trail
498km to Nannup, 9 to 10 days end-to-end
The Munda Biddi Trail (which means path through the forest in the Nyoongar Aboriginal language) is Western Australia’s premier long distance off-road cycling experience. The Trail meanders through scenic river valleys and the magnificent forests of WA’s South West. Joined by purpose built track, the Munda Biddi uses a network of bush tracks, firebreaks, and disused railway formations and has sections suitable for cyclists of all ages and experience levels.
“Nearly there, started nine days ago in Jarrahdale and will finish tomorrow in Nannup. Even if it was just a short section of my around the world trip and not very easy with my heavy loaded bike, it is still a highlight of my tour. Thanks a lot to everybody who built up and maintain the trails and huts. After 1 ½ years on the road this is the first time I saw such a great trail!”
Dorothee Fleck, Germany
“These two days of riding are one of the best things I’ve ever done.”
Daniel, Czech Republic
“I started off at Midland train station three days ago. First stop YHA hostel at Mundaring Weir, second at Carinyah and finally at Wungong last night. The trail has been great. Will defiantly come back and have a go at the rest.”
Stephan Pielfe, Sweden.

Shark Bay World Heritage Drive
160km, up to 5 days
This self-drive trail takes in all the significant features that give Shark Bay its World Heritage Listing. Unique features include the largest sea grass beds in the world - providing food for the dugong (sea cow), the tiny cockleshells of Shell Beach, the stromatolites of Hamelin Bay and the dolphins at Monkey Mia.

Golden Quest Discovery Trail
965km, 3 - 5 days
The Golden Quest Discovery Trail runs through WA’s Goldfields from Coolgardie through to Laverton. This true adventure drive explores the 1890’s gold rush region to witness classic pubs, remnants of vibrant communities, deserted and reinvigorated mining spots, hotels that were once the centre of thriving populations and interesting natural landscapes.
“A friend of mine is a Prospector and has just returned from a week out bush in the Goldfields with 6 ounces of Gold in his pocket. That equates to around $6000 for one weeks work! Who says the gold rush is over!!”
“ This adventure highlights the natural beauty of the outback, including nature reserves, granite outcrops, woodlands and red earth and even an awesome art installation on a salt Lake by the English sculpture Antony Gormley.”
“Emus, Kangaroos, Bungarra Lizards and the amazing Wedge-tailed eagles are common sites on this Trail. I took a group of Swiss journalists around the Trail recently and one commented, with a Thorny Mountain Devil in the palm of her hand that “if Australia had a “big 5”must sees like South Africa, we would have seen then in the last couple of days here on the Golden Quest Discovery Trail!”

Gibb River Road
700km, up to 22 days
The legendary Gibb River Road is an icon of outback adventure through the heart of the Kimberley in Western Australia’s north west. The dirt track passes through remote station country with magnificent scenery and plenty of opportunities to get out of your vehicle to discover one of the many fresh water gorges.
“After a wonderful camp-fire dinner near Mt Bell, we rolled out our swags and slept like logs. I was glad Scott recommended taking a camera to bed, because the sunrise over the landscape was beautiful.”
