We asked West Australians to nominate their top trails – the ones which they felt had the ‘wow’ factor and showed WA at its best.

166 nominations were received.  The trails were assessed - and just over 50 made the final selection.  In addition to WA's iconic long distance trails, the Top Trails include spectacular day walks, exhilarating forest mountain bike rides and outback drives.  We've also included paddle and snorkel trails.

You’ll find an overview for each of the trails on this site – along with links to other websites for further information about the national park or region they are located in.

The Department of Environment and Conservation and Department of Sport and Recreation are working towards enhancing our trails network to bring you more opportunities, including more canoeing and mountain bike trails, and we invite you to return to this site in future as more trails are added to the site.
